• UMIAM LAKE

Umiam or Barapani is a lake, Reservoir which serve The whole of Shillong with Electricity generated by its Hydroelectric projected , With a most spectacle Scenic view which one can Enjoy .

It is one of the best site to visit in Shillong and Easily Accessible As it is just located on the National Highway 6 commonly known as G.S Road (Guwahati Shillong Road). You will find this awesome place on the Road side just before Reaching Shillong.

If  one want to Just Enjoy The Scenery Of the lake then One just Have to Park A vehicle with no charges And Enjoy the Beauty of the nature from above the hills side where a Pavelion (Watch Point) Has been Made. And If one want to enjoy the water Sport Such As Boating, Kayaking, Water Cycling and Scooting then you have to visit "Umiam Water Sport Complex" just Located Near Jawaharlal Nehru Park . 

If one want to do a boat stay For a Day Or a two then You can lodge into the Orchid lake Resort Just located Near Umiam water sport Complex  And have a awesome Stay there .

Visiting  Umiam in The month Of March To October As in Winter One cant nor Bear The cold and the scenic view is Best during the day time when the sun Rise(Shine).

         

• AIR FORCE SHILLONG

This museum located on the outskirt of Shillong around 12 km from main city on the way to upper Shillong which is also the important road to the way to the most esteemed location Mawsanram Cherrapunjee .

This museum is maintained my the Eastern Air command Shillong.  Here you can go and see some of the artifact of the Indian Air Force . Picture gallery is worth seeing  and some of the locally found animal of the region . And not to forget some of the dummy Air Vehicle.

While visiting there one have to take Identification Card of Any kind which is an utmost important,  As it is also the Air Force base station so security is the main concern out there. Enjoy visiting out there.

It Remains open through the year but it depends on the Air Force Staff  when it should be open an when it should be closed. As this is located on the road of Shillong to Cherrapunjee . So one can Always give a try to visit if possible

• ELEPHANT FALLS

 It is the best place to go for a picnic sport Scenic view and the most photogenic location in Meghalaya . One will not Regret As for the location is concern .I would personally Recommend You this spot to keep in you must visit bucket list while you are in Shillong visit.

As the name suggest is is as  huge as an Elephant  just located near the eastern Air command Shillong 7th mile. Far away from the hustle and bustle of the city life of Shillong. This is the only falls which can be easily accessible for all Ages with stairs leading it to the base of the falls. One can view all the three step falls and enjoy by the stairs leading downwards. There are lots of Shop chargeable for Souvenir , Eatables, Local Tribal Attire For Photos, And lots more.

Best time to visit is in the month of March To October Nevertheless it is open through the year for

visitors and it looks equally mesmerizing but when the water flow is more then the view looks is what we call heaven on earth.

• WARDS LAKE
  

This is a beautiful lake located in the heart of Shillong Police Bazaar . Here the scenery is most spectacle with a park attached in a Surrounding is well maintained . Most of the tourist visit Shillong for the Bridge in between which is made of wood and is the main attraction of this lake .

Also it is a huge man made lake with boating facility and a restaurant. The lawns are inexperienced and there are some trees Which blossom in spring is also within the park. The cherry timber blossom among final week of October & second week of November. There is also a wooden bridge on the lake which makes this lake attractive.  And also it becomes the major attraction for whole of  East khasi hills people during the  cherry blossom festival which is organized within the premises in spring season when the pink flower (cherry blossom) blossom's . Best time to visit during spring season never the less it look's beautiful throughout the year .

• THE GRAND MADINA MASJID

This is the best place to visit For Muslim travellers As this is the mosque and no non Muslim can enter this mosque but enjoy the beauty from outside from the garden. This is the biggest glass mosque in entire North Eastern region of India. Being located at Laban Just By the side of N.E.R N.C.C Directorate , Civil Hospital Shillong . As one can see from the main road and Evening would be the best time to visit the Masjid
